The Sun are currently mired in a five-game losing streak, most recently a 74-57 defeat at the hands of the Golden State Valkyries. Aneesah Morrow led the team with 13 points and 14 rebounds. In comparison, Olivia Nelson-Ododa went a perfect 5-for-5 from the field to score 12 points of her own—unfortunately, the other three starters combined to shoot 4-for-26, leading to the defeat.

Chicago has had more to cheer for over this season with the emergence of Angel Reese, but injuries have decimated their squad and turned it into a lost season. They’ve currently lost two in a row and 10 of 11, the last of which was a 92-70 loss to the Indiana Fever. Just one starter scored in double digits for the Sky (Rachel Banham, 11), with reserve Maddy Westbeld adding 10 off the bench.

The Sky won the first meeting between the teams, a 78-66 win in the Commissioner’s Cup back on June 15th. Including tonight’s game, the Sky and Sun will face each other three times over the next three weeks.
