Variety has revealed that Selena Gomez would portray Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.Tuesday night, the pop singer and star of “Only Murders in the Building” hinted to the part by sharing a photo of Ronstadt’s 2013 autobiography “Simple Dreams” on her Instagram story.

With producers including Ronstadt’s manager, John Boylan, and James Keach, who produced the 2019 documentary “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice,” the music biopic is presently in pre-production.There are no further casting announcements.

Ronstadt declared her retirement in 2011, only to subsequently disclose that her worsening supranuclear palsy—first misdiagnosed as Parkinson’s disease—was the reason she can no longer sing.
