PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) — A person concerned in a crash in Pigeon Forge on Thursday has died, in keeping with the Pigeon Forge Police Division. The crash occurred lower than a mile from the Rod Run occasion.

Police Chief Richard Catlett shared that the crash occurred close to the intersection of the Parkway and Jake Thomas Street.

Catlett stated the police division investigated the crash, and it seems that the crash occurred as the person was driving a scooter between the white line on the street and the sidewalk when he approached a car stopped at a purple visitors sign. Reportedly, somebody inside that car opened a door and the person struck the door.

Catlett additionally shared that the police division has not decided if the person was collaborating within the Rod Run occasion.

“Our condolences exit to the person’s household,” Catlett stated.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The person’s identification has not been launched presently.
