Melanie “Mel B” Brown brought her bold style to her second wedding.

Ahead of their Moroccan nuptials, the Spice Girls star, 50, and her husband, Rory McPhee, 37, threw a fashionable welcome party. Mel B celebrated in style, rocking a custom Justin Alexander gown in her signature leopard print.

“For her welcome party, Mel [wore] a custom leopard mini, perfectly tying in the Spice Girl’s signature print,” the Justin Alexander team tells PEOPLE. “This silk chiffon mini features a beautifully draped strapless cowl neckline with a cinched inset waistband. The standout feature of the design includes a structured oversized bow accenting the back with a streamer train detail.”

Mel B has always embraced fierce fashion, often wearing the popular ’90s animal print. Leopard print became a trademark for Scary Spice at the height of her Spice Girls era, and she’s frequently worn it since then.

For her 50th birthday bash earlier this year, the “Wannabe” singer sported a long-sleeve, shimmery leopard-print minidress and even had a leopard-print birthday cake. Her bandmates Melanie “Mel C” Chisolm and Emma Bunton also wore leopard-print dresses.

Later at her bachelorette party in June, Mel B and 36 of her closest girlfriends rocked glam leopard-print swimsuits, which they wore while doing a fun choreographed dance to Beyoncé’s “End of Time” by a large body of water.

Justin Alexander Warshaw, the creative director of Justin Alexander, tells PEOPLE that “it was a joy” to work with Mel B on her leopard-print welcome party dress. He also worked alongside Terri Hilferty, the chief of design at Justin Alexander, on Mel B’s red wedding gown.

“Mel is a lover in every sense of the word: of life, of people, of passion, of fun. As a bride, she radiated that energy. She brought joy, excitement, and a sense of celebration to every step of the process,” he says. “Designing for her, we hoped to capture her essence: bold, confident, loving, and always up for a good time. She doesn’t do anything halfway.”

Warshaw continues: “Every meeting felt like a creative burst of energy and laughter, and that spirit is absolutely woven into the dresses we created together. There was so much joy and trust in the process, and creating these dresses together felt like a true celebration of her love story and personal style.”

For her second walk down the aisle, Mel B wore a “sultry” sheer fit-and-flare red gown entirely hand-beaded with rich red crystals and bugle beads. The intricate craftsmanship required a team of six artisans and more than 850 hours to complete.

“Morocco is all about color and flamboyance, and I had in my head an idea for a classic figure-hugging gown covered in dazzling ruby-red gemstones, very dramatic but also quite old-school Hollywood,” Mel B tells PEOPLE.

“And as it is boiling hot in Morocco in August, I also wanted it to be light and easy to move in — so quite a challenge!” she adds.

Caroline Black, the owner of London-based bridal boutique Evelie, helped facilitate a creative exchange with Mel B, Warshaw and his design team.

Mel B first tied the knot with McPhee on July 5 in a ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral, followed by a reception at the Shangri-La Hotel inside The Shard in London.

The couple announced the news of their second wedding at Selman Marrakech in Morocco via a joint Instagram post on Sunday, Aug. 3.

“We got married!!! Again!” Mel B and McPhee wrote alongside an image in which they could be seen dancing down what appeared to be the aisle at their wedding.

“A wedding so good we keep the celebration going with our closest and dearest in our fav place at @selmanmarrakech ❤️❤️❤️ we had the time of our lives!!” they continued.
