No. 8/10 Idaho Celebrates P1FCU Kibbie Dome 50th Anniversary, Hosts Utah Tech

“There’s no question they’ll be a challenge. That’s a well-coached group. Lance Anderson is a guy that has done it at a high level. He was at Stanford, he was a defensive coordinator for a long time […] What I do know is they’re going to be disciplined and they’re going to fly around defensively.” – Head Coach Thomas Ford Jr.

No. 8/10 Idaho Celebrates P1FCU Kibbie Dome 50th Anniversary, Hosts Utah Tech

The No. 8/10 Idaho Vandals are set to host the Utah Tech Trailblazers for the first-ever matchup between the two schools. In Saturday’s game, The University of Idaho will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. Kickoff in the Dome is set for 1:00 p.m. The game can be seen on SWX and ESPN+ with Austin Getz and Adam Shackleford on the call.

This is the third-straight week that Utah Tech has faced off against a Top 25 team from the Big Sky Conference. In week one, the Trailblazers nearly upset top ten UC Davis. Last week, a furious Utah Tech comeback effort fell just short against Northern Arizona. Utah Tech will be joining the Big Sky Conference in the 2026 season.

THINGS TO LOOK FOR

  • Quarterback Joshua Wood is coming off a career performance in which he threw for 281 yards and rushed for 96, totaling four touchdowns on the day and earning Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week.
  • UI is looking to extend its home win streak to eight consecutive games
  • Idaho will be doing several things throughout the game to honor the Dome and the Vandal Football history that has taken place in Moscow over the past five decades.

TRADITIONS

In last week’s home opener, Idaho football revitalized a dormant tradition and brought back the first Vandal March in several years. Every home game, the football team and coaches will kick off the opening of Vandal Village by walking through the crowd and greeting fans as they make their way into the Dome before the game starts. This will take place approximately two and a half hours before kickoff and just before the opening of Vandal Village. The Vandal family is encouraged to attend and celebrate the team as it marches to the Dome.
