PORTLAND – The third-seeded UConn ladies’s basketball workforce (32-5) continues its NCAA Girls’s Basketball Championship run within the Elite Eight vs. No. 1-seed USC (29-5) on Monday at 9:20 p.m. ET within the Moda Heart. The sport will air on ESPN and the UConn Sports activities Community from Learfield (FOX Sports activities 97-9).

That is UConn’s thirty fifth total and straight look within the NCAA Event. The Huskies have performed in every NCAA Event starting with the 1988-89 season. UConn is the winningest program in NCAA Event video games with a 135-23 total document. That is the third time in program historical past that UConn is a 3 seed.

That is UConn’s 28th look within the Elite Eight. The Huskies are 22-5 all-time within the Elite Eight.

UConn held on to beat Duke, 53-45, within the NCAA Candy 16 on Saturday.  Redshirt junior Paige Bueckers led UConn with 24 factors. The Huskies’ protection was on show as UConn posted 14 steals and the Blue Devils had 23 turnovers. UConn had 23 factors off turnovers.

UConn is 2-0 all-time vs. USC. This would be the first assembly between the groups since 2003 and first within the NCAA Event. UConn confronted USC head coach Lindsay Gottlieb 4 instances when she was the top coach for Cal with the final assembly coming in 2019.

High-seeded USC beat No. 5- seed Baylor, 74-70, to advance to the regional remaining. The Trojans are led by freshman JuJu Watkins, who ranks second nationally with 27.0 factors per sport. Watkins leads the nation in free throws made and tried. Gottlieb is in her third season at USC.
