Two months after her ex-husband Orlando Bloom and longtime partner Katy Perry confirmed their split, Miranda Kerr is breaking her silence on the breakup, calling their blended unit “one big, happy family.”
Speaking on KIIS FM’s “Kyle & Jackie O” show on September 3—two months exactly after Bloom and Perry released a joint statement about the matter on July 3—Kerr said that not only was the split amicable, but that she’s seen Bloom and Perry together since it happened.

“I actually just saw them both on the weekend,” the model said. “We were celebrating Daisy’s birthday”—referring to Bloom and Perry’s daughter Daisy Dove, who turned 5 years old on August 26. Kerr and Bloom, for their part, share 14-year-old son Flynn.
“We’re one big, happy family,” Kerr continued. “Katy is amazing. I love her. And Orlando, obviously.”

Like Kerr and Bloom did, Kerr noted that it was important to keep a breakup “harmonious” when children are involved: “If you do have animosity, it only hurts yourself,” she added.
Perry seems to be on the same wavelength. A source told People back on June 26 that “Katy has every intention of maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with Orlando. He’s the father of their daughter, and that will always come first for her.”

The insider added of Bloom and Perry, “They’ve been through a lot together, and while they’ve decided to go their separate ways, there’s still a mutual respect between them. They’re still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together. For the sake of their daughter, they’re committed to keeping things amicable.”
Kerr has referred to her relationship with Bloom and Perry as a “blended family,” telling Access Hollywood that “we go on family vacations together. We enjoy each others’ company. It’s great.”

Perry agreed, adding in a separate interview that she was “grateful” for Kerr: “It’s like I gained another sister, one with whom I usually sidebar from the main family chat and agree with,” she said.
