Mariah the Scientist Details ‘Hearts Sold Separately’ Tour

Mariah the Scientist has announced a world tour in support of her latest album, Hearts Sold Separately . The Atlanta-born singer-songwriter will embark on a 36-city jaunt around the world, including a North American leg following stops in Paris, the U.K., and the Netherlands.

The tour is titled after her new album of the same name, which debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and Number 11 on the Billboard 200 during its first week — both career highs. The tour will begin in Paris on Jan. 12, and ends in her hometown of Atlanta next April. Just last year, Mariah embarked on the 40-city To Be Eaten Alive tour with support by artists Chxrry and Ryan Trey.

Last month, she spoke with Rolling Stone about crafting Hearts Sold Separately. “The climate of the world made me want to make a whole project about love,” she said. “I feel like nobody prioritizes love. Everybody looks at love like it’s a problem. I feel like back in the day, it wasn’t like that. Everybody wanted to have a family unit and be married.

“Now it’s like everybody is shying away from that a little bit. I just feel like there’s this long-standing war between men and women and I don’t know what that’s about,” Mariah continued. “I wish it wasn’t like that, but it just is. And the more men and women I meet, I realize even though we are all human, there are huge fundamental differences that you don’t really acknowledge when you’re younger. I just feel like I’m Eve and I fucked around and bit the apple or something. Now I see everything totally different than what I thought it was. That was the catalyst of everything I wrote.”
