Red Sox-Yankees lineups, preview for Sept. 14, 2025

For Alex Cora, the focus isn’t on the postseason. It’s on the next 12 games.

“I think we should stop talking about October to be honest with you,” the Red Sox manager said. “There’s a lot of stuff going on and we have to play better. I’m not saying we’re in a bad spot, but I think we have to wait to see if October is part of this.”

Garrett Crochet will be on the mound for Boston, which has lost three straight.

The Yankees will counter with righthander Will Warren, who who is 1-1 with an 8.68 ERA in his two starts against the Red Sox this season and in his career. Warren has recorded back-to-back no-decisions, and struck out five while allowing two runs on just two hits over the first six innings of New York’s 12-2 Tuesday loss to the Detroit Tigers.

The Red Sox will get a day off on Monday before a three-game homestand against the Athletics beginning Tuesday.
