  • Coco Gauff is the No. 3 seed in the 2025 U.S. Open. She won the 2023 U.S. Open and the 2025 French Open.

(This story has been updated to add new information.)

Coco Gauff picked up an emotional win to advance at the 2025 U.S. Open. The 21-year-old tennis superstar from South Florida cried during and after her second-round match but gutted out a win in straight sets over Donna Vekic.

Gauff has seen her serving problems continue despite a coaching change days before the U.S. Open started. The No. 3 player in the world fell behind early and was seen crying on the bench before rallying to win 7-6 (5), 6-2.

The Delray Beach native is after her second U.S. Open championship and her second Grand Slam title of the year. If she beats Magdalena Frech today, Gauff could face off against Naomi Osaka next week in what would be a high-profile fourth-round match.
