There’s a decent chance the finale of Seattle’s series against the Philadelphia Phillies will be disrupted by adverse weather, which would be the fourth rain delay in nine games on the current road trip.
The Accuweather hourly forecast for Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park includes rain at 3 a.m. Wednesday Atlantic time, then again at both noon and 1 p.m.

If necessary, the Mariners and Phillies could play a makeup game on Thursday as both teams have scheduled days off, though that wouldn’t be preferable as the M’s are set to fly home to begin a six-day homestand Friday. It’s also unlikely as the forecast, at least for now, provides a five-hour window Wednesday afternoon between periods of rain in Philly.
Seattle’s opening series of the road trip against the Orioles in Baltimore was twice delayed by rain – one that delayed the start last Wednesday, and another that interrupted a game in the sixth inning the following day.
The start time for the Mariners’ Little League Classic game against the New York Mets in Williamsport, Penn., was also pushed back 35 minutes due to rain.
The Mariners have largely struggled in games interrupted by rain this year. They lost each of the three games on the current road trip to go into delay, and are just 1-6 in games delayed by rain this year, per Clutchpoints.
